Chantix Side Effects
Chantix is the latest sensation in the prescription
medicine for cessation of smoking. The medicine
approved by the Food and drug administration of the
United States of America has been proved in clinical
tests to
be more effective than the earlier medicines used
for the purpose. It is also found to have fewer side
effects on administration. However there are a few
possible side effects observed among the patients.
Possible side effects
Chantix is a prescription medicine for cessation of
smoking for adults. There are no tests conducted
among patients below the age of 18 and as such it is
not recommended for them. In the clinical tests in
rabbits and rats the medicine is found to have
adverse effects on fetus. There are no adequate and
controlled studies in pregnant women. It is not
advisable for pregnant women. Considering the
potential for serious adverse reactions in nursing
infants from CHANTIX, the decision with regard to
the discontinuance of nursing or discontinuance of
the drug, needs to be arrived considering the
importance of the drug to the mother.
Besides the above the possible side effects of
Chantix are Nausea, changes in dreaming,
constipation, flatulence, and vomiting. One is well
advised to discuss the problems with the doctor and
inform him about the side effects that persist.
